On Tuesday, the 77-year-old musician shared an update on his health while giving a heartwarming speech at the New York Film Festival premiere of his new documentary Elton John: Never Too Late.

The “Rocketman” crooner, who has been touring for years, said he felt “complete happiness” when he met his partner and started a family together, and after performing his last Farewell Yellow, he took a step back from entertainment. The date of the Brick Road tour, which explained the reason for his decision to step down, is 2023.
“When I met David and when we had our children, I felt complete happiness and bliss,” he said. “And it made me very satisfied. I've never felt happier than I do now.”

“As you know, I'm 77 years old and I've decided to stop touring. I've done everything I'm supposed to do, I've done everything I've got to play, and I've been successful,” he continued, according to the newspaper. “I’ve been there and done that.”
However, John pointed out that music has always been a part of him.
“I still need music in my life, so I have to make room for it,” he said. “But the most important things in my life are David, Zachary, Elijah, and my family and friends. I've found my paradise and I'm so excited.”
“Even when I was in my darkest moments, I was still playing music and recording music. So I have to thank music for being the greatest inspiration to me throughout my life. “No,” he concluded.
Last month, the “Tiny Dancer” singer posted a message on Instagram revealing that she suffered a “severe eye infection” over the summer and faces a long road to recovery.

“During the summer I suffered from a severe eye infection that unfortunately left me with limited vision in one eye,” he shared on social media. “Healing is progressing, but the process is very slow and it will take some time for vision to return to the affected eye.”
He went on to thank the “excellent team” of medical staff and family who looked after him “over the past few weeks.”
“I am spending the summer quietly resting at home and feeling positive about my healing and recovery so far,” he added, “With love and gratitude, Elton John.”
