Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has suggested that President Donald Trump could have prevented Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Ukraine's resistance was “absolutely viable for freedom and democracy” and the collapse of the eastern European nation would be an “absolute catastrophe”. “I understand that,” Trump said.

The former president, who has expressed skepticism about U.S. aid to Ukraine, repeatedly said during his campaign that Russia would not have invaded Ukraine if he were commander in chief. Since Russia first attacked Ukraine in February 2022, the United States has provided about $60 billion in military aid to the war-torn country.
The former president met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in New York last week. Before the sit-in, President Trump told reporters he could broker a deal to end the war “very quickly.”

In a wide-ranging interview, Johnson praised Trump's unpredictability and said he had spoken to the Republican candidate “very recently.”
