Utah State Women’s Volleyball Joins Revolt, Forfeits Game Against Team with Male Player

Utah State University announced that its women's volleyball team will not play against San Jose State University, making the Utahans the fourth college team in San Jose to refuse to play against transgender players.

The school posted a notice in the athletics department. web page To alert the public about this decision.

“Utah State University will not participate in the volleyball game scheduled for October 23, 2024 at San Jose State University,” the announcement reads. “The university will follow Mountain West Conference policy regarding how this game will be recorded.”

Three other schools also rejected lawsuits against the San Jose school, which included Blair Fleming, a 6-foot-1-inch tall student who identifies as female, on their team.

This week, the University of Wyoming women's volleyball team became the third team to decline to join the boycott, joining Boise State and Southern Utah.

Wyoming's Republican governor, Mark Gordon, immediately issued a statement supporting the school's decision.

The NCAA is currently facing a lawsuit from multiple organizations over its policy of allowing transgender athletes to play as women.
