MSNBC analyst Michael Steele slammed Democrats and media outlets for pressuring Vice President Kamala Harris to increase her media engagement, saying that Harris is a potential opponent in the 2024 presidential race. He claimed that he was being treated unfairly compared to former President Trump.
“I don't believe Donald Trump is holding weekly sit-ins and press conferences with the mainstream media,” Steele said in an interview on MSNBC on Friday.
“So let's stop. Let's hold her to the same standard that we hold Donald Trump. Because Donald Trump doesn't give you anything except Larry who dribbles and runs and nods and just keeps talking.” Because we're not giving. And the press is accepting that, but they look at her and say, “Why aren't you giving us more of what we want?” Well, as soon as she receives it from Donald Trump, she will give it to you,” the former RNC chairman continued.
Trump and his running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), have given at least 63 interviews since Harris Walz's ticket was signed, but so far, the Democratic Only 23 unscripted interviews have been conducted on the presidential ticket.

Harris has yet to hold a formal press conference since becoming the Democratic nominee to replace President Biden, while Trump has held five since early September.
With just over a month until Election Day, some Democrats and media commentators are warning the Harris-Waltz campaign that their strategy is counterproductive to voters who are still unsure about the Democratic nominee. It warns that it may become.
After last week's vice presidential debate, several media commentators said that Harris' running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, was unprepared due to a general lack of media exposure on the national stage. He claimed that it does not appear to be the case.

“Yes, yes, I've said that a thousand times,” Steele said, before dismissing those concerns.
“Democrats are Democrats, mainstream media is mainstream media. They want to be coddled. They want to show they're connected, they're included,” he said. Said.

Steele argued that the vice presidential campaign should not be compared to past presidential campaigns because Harris emerged as a presidential candidate so late in the election cycle. He said he was being selective about his media appearances because of the limited time left until election day.
“At the end of the day, it takes 140 days to run a national presidential campaign. She needs to be particular about her targets. If she has 400 more days, everyone in the mainstream media and the Democratic Party will be paying attention.” “This is not Hillary's 2016 campaign, and this is not Joe Biden's 2020 campaign.”
“I think she's focused where she needs to be. Democrats need to stop acting like Democrats, get down to the ground, organize, and vote. We'll dominate the ballot box on November 5th. 'And we don't have to worry about today's press conference, we don't have to worry about the voter count on November 5th,' he continued.

“Our mission in the final stages of this campaign is to [Harris’] A winning vision will reach the undecided voters who will decide this election, where and how it can be reached. “While it may look different than previous campaigns in today's evolving media environment, when combined with campaign events, active organizing and historic paid media campaigns, this is a successful approach.” Munoz said.
