Vice President Harris discussed reproductive rights with host Alex Cooper on the popular podcast “Call Her Daddy,” her campaign told The Hill.
She appeared on the podcast, which is popular among young female listeners, on Tuesday, and the episode is scheduled to air next week, although the campaign does not specify the date.
The vice president has appeared on other podcasts and radio shows, but has been criticized for the amount of media interviews he gives. Since becoming the Democratic presidential candidate, she has been interviewed by MSNBC and CNN. and appeared on a panel for the National Association of Black Journalists.
The campaign calls Cooper's Show a cultural phenomenon, with millions of listeners and a large reach on social media that makes it a leading platform for discussing abortion access. He pointed out that this was the reason why it was considered a forum.
The campaign also said Harris' appearance underscores the importance of connecting with young audiences.
Cooper has become a household name since joining NBC to broadcast this summer's Olympic Games in Paris.
