Police were alerted to a Texas teacher having sex with an underage student and were called to a home under construction where they found a “suspicious person,” authorities said.
Jennifer Massey, 51, an art teacher at Davenport High School, was arrested Thursday when Comal County Sheriff's Office agents made the disturbing discovery.
According to the sheriff's office, officers were searching a Garden Ridge home around 6 p.m. after receiving a 911 call of activity at an unoccupied building and allegedly found Massey inside with a boy. .
Based on a preliminary investigation, deputies concluded that the two “engaged in sexual contact,” the department said.
Massey was charged with improper relationship between educator and student, a second-degree felony, and is being held in the Comal County Jail.
The local school district where Massey teaches denounced the alleged conduct and placed her on administrative leave. This was reported by local CBS affiliate station KENS5..
“The district does not tolerate inappropriate relationships between teachers and students. Ensuring the safety and security of our students is our top priority,” Comal ISD said in a statement to the station. “We will continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement during the investigation.”
The district also sent a message to parents on Friday, which was obtained by news outlets.

“The school district learned last night that Mrs. Massey has been charged with having an inappropriate relationship with a student,” the message said.
“Mrs. Massey was placed on leave this morning and will not be returning to Davenport High School.”
