Biden, Harris Plagiarize Each Other’s October 7 Statements in Calling for End to War in Lebanon

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris used the exact same words in a statement marking the one-year anniversary of the Oct. 7 terrorist attack, calling for an end to the Lebanon war.

Hamas terrorists attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, killing approximately 1,200 people, including dozens of Americans. An Iranian-backed terrorist organization also took over 250 hostages. Four Americans remain as living hostages in Gaza.

Both Biden and Harris' statements expressed fear of the attack, solidarity with the victims, and hope for the return of the hostages. Both supported Israel's right to defend itself. Both also support Palestinian rights, and Harris went further, pledging to “always fight for the Palestinian people” to achieve “self-determination.”

However, in a passage about the ongoing war in Lebanon, both used exactly the same wording.

biden“We also continue to believe that a diplomatic solution across the Israeli-Lebanese border region is the only path to restoring lasting peace and allowing populations on both sides to return safely to their homes.”

Harris“We also continue to believe that a diplomatic solution across the Israeli-Lebanese border region is the only path to restoring lasting peace and allowing populations on both sides to return safely to their homes.”

Despite the ceasefire mandated by UN Security Council Resolution 1701 (2006), as well as a deal brokered by the Biden administration in 2022 for Israel to transfer offshore gas fields to Lebanon, Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorists began firing on Israel on October 8, 2023. In exchange for a guarantee that Hezbollah would not attack.

Diplomatic efforts by the Biden-Harris administration to restore calm have failed, and Israel has decided it can no longer wait to defend itself and return more than 60,000 displaced Jews and Arabs to their homeland. did. Israel has removed much of Hezbollah's leadership and discovered large caches of weapons near the border since launching a ground invasion last week, but the terrorists are clearly not ready for another attack like the one on October 7. I had stockpiled it in preparation.
