Deutsch, who represented Florida's 20th Congressional District from 1993 to 2005, said there are many factors that go into choosing a presidential candidate to support, and that President Trump's positions on immigration and school choice weigh heavily on him. He said Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden's Iran policy has “made the world dramatically less safe.”

He also accused the Biden-Harris administration's policies of making the late British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain “proud” of his appeasement foreign policy towards Nazi Germany prior to World War II.
“Just yesterday, President Biden said that Israel should not attack Iran's nuclear facilities, and just yesterday President Trump said literally the exact opposite, that Iran is an appropriate place for Israel to attack. “What happened last week?” he said, referring to Iran's missile barrage against Israel.
