President Biden warned on Tuesday: hurricane milton “This could be the worst storm to hit Florida in 100 years.”
The Category 4 hurricane is currently located off Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula and is expected to make landfall in the Tampa area along Florida's west coast on Wednesday night, bringing devastating winds and storm surge.
“Maybe this is Worst storm to hit Florida For over a century. “God willing, it won't happen. But that's the way it is now,” Biden said.
Biden also called on everyone in the path of Hurricane Milton to listen to local authorities and follow safety instructions. If you are under an evacuation order, evacuate now. '' he added. “It's a matter of life and death – and that's not an exaggeration – it's a matter of life and death.”

Mr. Biden said, “I talked to you.'' Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Last night, I spoke with Tampa Mayor Jane Castor and said, “As we watch this storm hit, they should be in touch with us about anything they may need, including contacting me directly.'' I made that clear to them.”

“While we prepare for Hurricane Milton, we are surging resources in North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida and Tennessee in response to Hurricane Helen,” Biden said. “And that's the reality. The effects are still there. And we're not going to leave until the job is done. It's going to take time and it's going to cost tens of billions of dollars to get it all done.”
Biden, who had canceled planned trips to Germany and Angola because of Milton, said: “Yesterday, I sent FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell to Florida as we prepare to deploy more resources.'' “We will work intensively with state and local partners.”
He said FEMA provided 300 ambulances to transport people from medical facilities who are unable to move on their own.
