In the fall of 2024, you'll likely see a plethora of new books on the shelves of your local store or library.
Borrowing from the library can save you a lot of money, but if you want to read a new book, be aware that you will most likely have to wait a little while until you can get it.
Many famous authors are publishing new books for fall, including Rebecca Jarosz and Frieda McFadden.

Additionally, memoirs, including one by legendary actor Al Pacino, are on many people's fall must-read lists.

1. “Variations” by Rebecca Jarosz
Rebecca Yaros is a #1 New York Times bestselling author.
She has written more than 20 novels throughout her career, including the highly popular fantasy series “The Empyrean.”
So far, there are two books in the series: “Fourth Wing” and “Iron Flame,” both of which will be published in 2023.

Excited readers no longer have to wait too long to find out what happens after the massive cliffhanger that ends the second book. A third book, “Onyx Storm,” is in preparation for publication in January 2025.
Meanwhile, Yaros's latest work is scheduled to be released on November 19, 2024. It's a romance book called “Variations.”

This book is called “A new modern romance about summer, [as] “A celebrated dancer returns home to uncover long-held family secrets and deep regrets for a Coast Guard rescue swimmer who will never be forgotten,” the book's description reads.
2. “Is She Really Going Out with Him” by Sophie Cousens
Sophie Cousens is a London-born writer who has worked in television for several years.
She is currently the author of several romance novels.
“This Time Next Year” was her debut novel. She is also the author of “Just Haven't Met You Yet,” “Before I Do,” and “The Good Part.”
Autumn romance books to relax by the fire
Cousins' latest romance novel, Is She Really Dating?, is scheduled for publication on November 10, 2024.
According to the book's description, the book is “a hilarious love story about a disillusioned divorced woman who agrees to let her children play matchmakers.”

3. “A Queen's Game” Katherine McGee
Katherine McGee is the author of “American Royals'' and “The Thousand Floors'' trilogy.
“The Thousandth Floor” trilogy was first published, with the first book in the series being published in 2016, “The Dazzling Heights” in 2017, and “The Towering Sky” in 2018.

Shortly after, the first book in the “American Royals” series was published in 2019. This book was followed by three more novels in the series.
McGee's latest film, A Queen's Game, is similar to American Royals, but is separate from the series.
“When I was doing background research for the American Royals series, I stumbled upon the story of Alix, Hélène, and May, three princesses from the late Victorian era whose lives were shaped in many ways. They were all intertwined, the same three princes,” Maggie told Town & Country about her latest book.

According to sources, the book will be published on October 1, 2024 and will be the first of a two-book series.
4. “The Boyfriend” by Frieda McFadden
Frieda McFadden is the author of the popular series The Housemaid. This series falls under the genre of thriller and leaves the reader scratching his head with every turn of the page, trying to unravel the mysteries that unfold.
The first book in 'The Housemaid' series was published in 2022, followed by 'The Housemaid's Secret' in 2023 and 'The Housemaid Is Watching' in 2024.
A separate book from the series, The Boyfriend, was published on October 1, 2024.

The book not only explores the time Pacino spent making historical films such as “The Godfather,'' but also delves into his life before starring in blockbuster movies.
Pacino's memoir is scheduled to be released on October 15, 2024.

6. “From Here to the Great Unknown” by Lisa Marie Presley and Riley Keough
“From Here to the Great Unknown” is a highly anticipated memoir coming in fall 2024.
This book was started by Elvis Presley's daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, before her death on January 12, 2023.
After Lisa Marie's death, Lisa Marie's daughter Riley Keough took on the task of completing her mother's story.
“Born into American mythology and raised in the wilds of Graceland, Lisa Marie Presley was never truly understood until now.
