Israeli soldiers raised the Jewish state's flag in Lebanon as part of continued attacks against Hezbollah terrorists.
A video released on Tuesday showed three Israeli Defense Forces members planting the national flag on rubble in Maroun el-Ras in southern Lebanon. KANN News shared is shown.
Maroun el-Ras is less than 1 km from Israel's northern border. Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen said the IDF had “occupied” villages and destroyed homes where Hezbollah allegedly fired missiles into northern Israel.
The soldiers seen in KANN News footage appeared to be in Iranian Gardens, a propaganda tourist attraction overlooking the Israeli towns of Avivim and Ylon. Y Net News pointed out this.
According to the media, the Iranian Garden was opened in 2010 by former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on the site of a major battle in the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war.

The site also displayed a model of Jerusalem's Dome of the Rock mosque, as well as signs of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Claims that Iranian General Qassem Soleimani was referring to Israel were also heavily criticized. Lebanese news source The 961 reported.
By Tuesday, much of the site had been reduced to rubble, the result of a year-long battle between Hezbollah and Israel that began days after the Hamas terror attack on October 7, 2023.
