COLUMBUS – Early voting began Tuesday in the former battleground state of Ohio, and Fox News Digital interviewed the state's Republican lieutenant governor to explain why Republicans are encouraging voters to vote early.

“I want to do what President Trump wants us to do, which is overwhelming your votes, because we want everyone across the country and in the state of Ohio to go out and vote early. “We want to make sure that our voices and our votes are heard. That way, we can make sure that campaigns focus their resources on people who didn't go out and vote.” Ohio Lt. Gov. Jon Husted spoke to FOX News Digital Tuesday at the Franklin County Board of Elections during voting. First day of early voting.

“This is a very important part of the campaign strategy.”

The former president's 2024 campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC) announced earlier this year the launch of an initiative they are calling “Swamp the Vote USA,” which is a sign of Trump's opposition to early in-person speeches. This will be a change from 2020 as shown. Voting and mail-in voting.

President Trump: “Whether you vote absentee, by mail, early, or on Election Day, we'll make sure you vote.'' posted online at that time. “Just vote! They're all good options. The way to win is to out-vote them!”

Republican voters are known to typically vote on Election Day, but Democrats often have an advantage when it comes to early voting. Husted told Fox News Digital that people should vote in the way they feel most comfortable, but encouraged early voting.

“If you want to vote on Election Day, that's fine,” Husted said. “But we encourage people who are willing to vote early, because once a campaign knows you voted, they are less likely to spend resources eliminating people who haven't voted. The election system here in Ohio is where we make it happen.'' It's easy to vote and hard to cheat, so the sooner you can get it done, the better this system will work for you. You can encourage your friends and neighbors to vote. ”

Husted added, “I think it's very important that Republicans don't give Democrats a lead in early voting. Think about it. If you vote early, if something goes wrong on Election Day, it's a hurricane. There's going to be a storm coming.” If that happens, something may get in the way of you going to vote. Voting early will ensure that your vote is counted, that your vote is counted, and that something is not on the ballot. This is between now and voting day. ”
