CNN reporter Priscilla Alvarez told “Inside Politics” Wednesday that she has “flashbacks to 2016” when Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign saw Hillary Clinton lose to Donald Trump. He said there was.
“This has been described as a positive campaign by several Democrats, allies and aides to the vice president,” Alvarez said. But what's creeping in now is that anxiety. The reason is that despite the opportunities she has had across the media outlets, despite the blitzkrieg on multiple battlefields, these polls haven't really moved. Voters have not yet shown much support for her over former President Donald Trump. ”
She continued, “In fact, I had a source explain it to me this way: 'People are nervous.'” They know the polls are tough. Many of us are experiencing flashbacks to 2016, too. We know when it can go wrong, but it can still feel fresh. ”So 2016 is key here. When I talk to people associated with the Harris campaign, this topic often comes up. Where were the pitfalls for Hillary Clinton, and where can she fill in the gaps and build on what Joe Biden did in 2020?”
Alvarez added: “There is certainly a lot of anxiety and tension as we get closer to voting day, but the polls remain deadlocked.”
