Dave Portnoy’s Taylor Swift ‘ghosted’ story takes unexpected twist

Don't worry, Swifties, Dave Portnoy wasn't ghosted by Taylor Swift.

The Barstool Sports founder spoke with Swift on his podcast, “BFFs,” ahead of his Elas Tour dates at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on Oct. 18, Oct. 19, and Oct. 20. team declared that they were ghosting Swift.

However, just minutes after Barstool Sports posted the clip to its social media accounts, Portnoy backtracked against X, insisting that he had not been ghosted.

Portnoy is a huge supporter of Swift and her music, so it's no surprise that he was scheduled to attend the Miami leg of her tour and expected to receive an invitation from her team.

“By the way, Taylor Swift is coming to Miami, so I thought she had an invitation from her PR company,” he said on the podcast. “They have completely disillusioned me. There is absolutely no respect from the Swiftie team for what I am doing.”

When co-host Brianna LaPaglia asked why, Portnoy surmised, “They don't like me.”

But even if he didn't get anything like a free pass, Portnoy wasn't going to stop going to the show.

“I don't want to sound like a yuppie, but just buy a ticket, okay,” Portnoy said. “Nothing wrong with that, but just being a generic pop song would be hard, and so would I. Fine, whatever, no big deal, shit swarming inside my jacket.” Come on.”

But Portnoy's tone quickly changed. I wrote to X After learning Swift's team hadn't ghosted him, he said, “I can't wait for Miami!”
