New York Times writer Mara Gay said Friday on MSNBC's “Morning Joe” that podcaster Joe Rogan is converting angry people to fascism.
“My hope is that women, who make up more than half of the population, will see this and vote more consistently than men,” Gay said. I hope they understand this and unite around the obvious choice. White women, I'm talking to you too. ”
she continued. “As Barack Obama did yesterday, we may want to take a moment to speak specifically to black men, but this is really for all men. I actually think men are in crisis in this country, and I think it's going to play out in a number of ways.
Gay added, “Of course not all men are in crisis, and not all men are sitting at home listening to Joe Rogan get angry or being recruited to fascism.'' Some people, like all of us, just need therapy. I go to therapy, which is great, but instead of condoning Donald Trump's penchant for false masculinity. , I think we need to have a serious conversation about it.”
Co-host Mika Brzezinski said, “What I see is him putting things like quick and easy things like bigotry, racism, misogyny into certain people's brains.'' It's like you're tapping into a certain muscle. It's very Trumpy.”
