Former Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker accused Barack Obama of holding black people back in terms of equality by demanding that they vote based on the color of their skin.
Walker's rebuke of Obama came after he warned that not enough black people, particularly black men, supported Harris, according to current polling.
“Barack Obama, you forget how hard we fought for the right to vote! Telling people how to vote based on color is a step backwards. Biden/Harris bad policy is me We all need unity, not division!'' Walker wrote, adding #Togetherwestand.
President Obama's comments came in the wake of a Sept. 30 Pew Research poll that found only 84% of blacks said they planned to vote for Kamala Harris in the presidential election, while 13% said they planned to vote for Trump. I responded that I support him. By contrast, Joe Biden won 92 percent of the Black vote in 2020.
Many Democratic Party insiders are concerned about Harris' declining support among blacks, a concern Obama expressed during a visit to the key battleground state of Pennsylvania this week.
“We still haven't seen the kind of vibrancy and turnout that we saw when I was running for office in every aspect of our neighborhoods and communities,” Obama told Harris supporters in Pittsburgh.
“Now, I would also say that it seems to be more pronounced among brothers,” exclaimed President Obama. “So, if you don't mind, I'd like to talk to you for a moment about how when you have such clear choices, on the other hand, when you have someone who has grown up.'' Just like you, I know you, went to college with you, and understand the struggles, pain, and joy that come with those experiences. ”
“She had to try harder, try harder, overcome and achieve the second-highest position in this country,” President Obama asserted.
Despite President Obama's appeals, black voters continue to turn away from the Democratic Party. From 2018 to 2022, the Republican share of the black vote will be 9 percent to 13 percent.
