A federal lawsuit alleges that Brett Kimmel groomed one of his students “almost every day,” called her “princess” and “baby,” and sexually abused her.

The victim said Kimmel groped her, pressured her to perform oral sex and even tried to have sex with her before she turned 18.

The victim, identified as Jane Doe, also said Kimmel allegedly “spotted” her when she was an eighth-grader at Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School.

She also said that during her freshman year, he sent her dozens of inappropriate texts and emails every day. He also allegedly asked her to send him a shirtless selfie afterwards.

She said in the lawsuit that Kimmel drove her to and from school and sexually abused her in his car during her sophomore and junior years.

The victim said her abuse was the result of “negligent supervision” by the Department of Education (DOE), which failed to train staff to report suspicious behavior and ignored student comments about the abuse. he claimed.

Julia Quan, the victim's attorney, said the girl decided to sue years after the abuse ended “to hold the perpetrators accountable and prevent them from doing this to anyone else again.” That's what it means.

The incident occurred at the same time that then-President Barack Obama invited Kimmel and student prodigy Esteben Rodriguez to Washington to congratulate Rodriguez on his hard work.

Kimmel, who now works as an education consultant in Florida, denies all charges and has requested that the lawsuit be dismissed.
