No. 4 Penn State fights back from two-touchdown deficit for walk-off win against unranked USC in overtime

While palm trees were sweating all over State College, the Nittany Lions breathed a sigh of relief.

After trailing by as many as 14 points, fourth-ranked Penn State won a walk-off 33-30 on the road against unranked USC.

Tied at 30, USC took all three timeouts with 2:53 remaining but didn't use any of them. Then, with about 10 seconds left in the game, Miller Moss threw an interception near midfield, giving Penn State a Hail Mary opportunity. This was also intercepted, and the game went into overtime.

In overtime, USC got the ball first, but lost 3 yards and attempted a field goal. The kick sailed wide left, making things much easier for the Nittany Lions who had the ball in overtime. After gaining six yards, redshirt freshman kicker Ryan Barker made a 34-yard field goal to complete Penn State's comeback.

USC got off to a hot start and entered the locker room with a 20-6 lead. But Penn State pulled out all the tricks to start the second half.

After snapping the ball, tight end Tyler Warren caught a 32-yard touchdown on a double pass. The Lions clearly got better after this, and the score was tied at 20 in the end.

With the score tied at 23 in the fourth quarter, the Trojans gained 75 yards in nine plays, culminating in a touchdown by Kyron Hudson of Miller Moss with 5:53 left to take a seven-point lead. But on the ensuing drive, Penn State converted on two fourth-and-long plays and Nicholas Singleton scored a 14-yard touchdown to tie the game.

Penn State improved to 6-0, while USC fell to .500.

Aller threw for 391 yards, but his three interceptions were a concern. He threw touchdowns to both Warren and Singleton. Warren caught 17 passes for 224 yards, including a score.
