The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will return for the first time in five years on October 15th.
The show's big revival will be held in New York City, the same location where the original show was held in 1995. Earlier this year, the lingerie brand announced in a statement on Instagram that the show would be returning.
“We read the comments and heard what you guys think. The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is back. In addition to today's Us, the glamor, the runway, the wings, the musical entertainment, and more you know and love. It will reflect everything! Stay tuned…and it will only get more iconic from here.”
Victoria's Secret canceled its show in 2019 after it faced criticism over its inclusive nature on the runway and suffered record low ratings.

Cher appears on Victoria's Secret runway after casting controversy
Ed Razek, the brand's chief marketing officer at the time, also caused controversy when he said in a 2018 Vogue interview that the show would not feature transgender models because it was supposed to be a “fantasy.” He was under fire for his remark. Immediately after the comment is published, Victoria's Secret posted an apology from Razek.
Fast forward to 2023, and Victoria's Secret released a filmed version of its fashion show on Prime Video before officially relaunching it this year.
Tyra Banks is expected to don her “angel wings” for the first time in nearly 20 years on Tuesday night.

Other “Angels” scheduled to walk the runway include Gigi Hadid, Paloma Elsesser, Imaan Hammam, Candice Swanepoel, Grace Elizabeth, Taylor Hill, Mayowa Nicholas, Devin Garcia, Barbara Palvin, They include Behati Prinsloo, Ashley Graham, Jasmine Tookes, and Adriana Lima.
Victoria's Secret announced in September that Cher would headline the night.
“This is a women's world, so it's only natural that we can't hold a fashion show without the mother of fashion herself.@Cher! ” Official Instagram the account captioned the announcement.
“We are so excited to announce that she will be officially appearing at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2024 on October 15th. But she won't be alone… Stay tuned, more announcements will be made to close out our first-ever show “-female lineup,” the caption continued.
“This is a woman's world, so we understand that you can't have a fashion show without Cher, the mother of fashion.”
Since its debut nearly 30 years ago, the show has received its fair share of scrutiny. Bella Hadid has an awkward confrontation with her ex-boyfriend

The Weeknd, whose legal name is Abel Makkonnen Tesfaye, was singing his hit song “Starboy” as Hadid walked the runway as the former couple awkwardly locked eyes.

Hadid and Tesfaye had an on-and-off romance from 2015 to 2019. The former couple have since moved on and Hadid is currently dating cowboy Adan Banuelos.
Heidi Klum's $12 million fantasy bra
Klum has sported some iconic looks during her reign as a Victoria's Secret Angel from 1998 to 2010. But perhaps the most talked about item is the $12 million Fantasy Bra she wore at the 2001 fashion show.

The Heavenly Star Bra was designed by Mouawad and was the first year the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was aired on television.
Gisele Bundchen fends off PETA protesters
In 2002, Bundchen was midway through her runway walk when PETA protesters tried to disrupt the Victoria's Secret fashion show by jumping on stage.
Bundchen, a veteran runway model at the time, was attacked by activists holding signs reading “Gisele: Fur Scum.”

The protests targeted Bundchen in response to a new contract she signed with fur manufacturer Blackgama.
Bundchen appeared unfazed by the incident and continued walking while protesters took to the stage. In 2018 she opened up fashion She talked about how the PETA protests changed the direction of her modeling career and made her reconsider a particular campaign that made her name.

Controversy over Native American appearance
In 2015, the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show received backlash for incorporating Native American-inspired looks into the show.
Back then, Karlie Kloss walked the runway wearing a floor-length feathered headdress, leopard-print underwear, and high heels. She was also adorned with fringe and turquoise jewelry during segments meant to represent the 12 months of the year (fireworks in July, rain gear in April, and headdresses in November).

According to the Associated Press, the brand at the time apologized and promised not to promote that particular style in future marketing or broadcasts.
“We never intended to hurt anyone and we sincerely apologize,” the company said at the time.
Halsey slams Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for 'lack of inclusivity'
Historically, headdresses are symbols of respect worn by Native American war leaders and warriors. For example, for Great Plains tribes, each feather on a headdress had a meaning and had to be earned through an act of compassion or courage. Some modern-day Native American leaders received their war caps in ceremonies accompanied by prayers and songs.
Irina Shayk debuted her baby bump
Six months pregnant, Irina Shayk showed off her baby bump for the first time on the Victoria's Secret runway.
At the time, Shayk and Bradley Cooper were pregnant with their first child. They welcomed their daughter, Leah, in March 2017.

Ariana Grande attacked by 'angel' wings'
In 2014, Ariana Grande made a guest appearance at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

In a photo that has since circulated online, Grande appears crouched down, seemingly afraid of the sharp object on Hosk's back.
The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will air on Tuesday, October 15th at 7pm ET and will be streamed on Amazon Live and Amazon Prime Video, as well as Victoria's Secret Instagram, YouTube and TikTok Live.
