Former Clinton Pollster Warns Of ‘Eroding’ Blue Wall For Harris After Failing To Connect In Fox Interview

Doug Schoen, a former pollster for former President Bill Clinton, sounded the alarm on Fox News Wednesday about Vice President Kamala Harris' ability to maintain the Democratic stronghold in the upcoming election.

Monaka exterior In “The Ingraham Angle,” Schoen highlighted critical vulnerabilities in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, states traditionally considered the Democratic Party's “blue wall.” Laura Ingraham opened the discussion by asking Schoen for his thoughts on Harris, noting that the divisions within the party so close to Election Day are a worrying sign for the vice president.

“Actually, that's what you're saying, Laura, a very bad sign. I'm picking up exactly what you're reporting from Democratic friends and sources. The so-called blue wall in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania. is eroding for Democrats,” Schoen told Ingraham. “Despite clear messages, there is considerable confusion and inconsistency on the ground.”

He also criticized Harris' performance in an interview with Fox News' Bret Baier, suggesting it reflected broader campaign issues. “As you saw today in Bret Baier and Kamala Harris' interview, the Harris campaign doesn't really have a closing message or a strategy,” Schoen said.

Ingraham pursued issues with Harris' plan, particularly regarding the economy, noting that the vice president continues to struggle to offer concrete answers beyond directing voters to her website.

“There is no clear sense of what makes her different from Joe Biden, but as you point out, nearly 60% of the American public feels even worse. “We haven't done that,” Shane explained. “And, frankly, it's perfectly logical for her to say, “In a different time, in a different situation, in a different plan, I'm doing this, Trump is doing this, vote for me.'' She doesn't do that. And I don't have the sense, Laura. She can do it.”

“I don't think it helped at all. I think she felt she could reach some floating voters. But for me, the lack of a clear answer that Brett asked, a completely logical question. The real confusion about it suggests that it highlights all the problems and concerns that a minority of undecided swing voters have. Don't think so,'' Schoen said when Ingraham asked if the Fox interview helped Harris.

Schoen said last week that Donald Trump's growing popularity among minority voters could undermine Democrats' grip on key battleground states. Schoen emphasized that if Pennsylvania were to tilt toward Trump, it could be a turning point that could decisively end the race. Trump has a lead in Michigan and has a 58.8% chance of winning the Electoral College over Harris, according to a Michigan News Source/MIRS poll. As The New York Times and Siena College reported in September, this marks a marked change from previous close races in this key battleground.
