New Orleans entered the break trailing 16-3 after a Broncos field goal with about 16 seconds left. Spencer Rattler threw a 1-yard pass to Alvin Kamara, and the Saints took a timeout to stop the clock. Rattler then threw a 5-yard pass to Kamara with 11 seconds left.

Once the Saints reached their own 36-yard line, they decided to take a timeout. Was it to prepare for a long pass? Was it a trick play to fool the Broncos defense? Will the Rattlers surprise fans at Caesars Superdome?

none of the above.

From the Saints' third timeout, Rattler hit his knee to end the quarter.

Steelers' Justin Fields admits his performance on the field hasn't established him as a QB1.

Former NFL star Richard Sherman was extremely perplexed by the decision. He expressed it during Prime Video's halftime show.

“I'm confused, I'm confused, I'm confused. I don't understand,” Sherman said. “They don't want to make tackles. They don't want to make plays. They're good players. Tyrann Mathieu is a good player. Easiest interception of his life. … And he dropped it. Players I see him not making an effort.'' He goes to the ball carrier and tackles him, which is incomprehensible. That's their effort.

“Hey Dennis Allen, did you call a timeout so we could watch the quarterback take a knee? Are you going to roast these Saints fans? They should wait in his car after this game. It will be.”

Other fans chimed in as well.

After the game, Allen praised the efforts of his players and said he disagreed with Sherman's desire to be fired.

“We have to stand up and lead,” Allen said. Via NOLA.com. “The only thing that's going to get us out of this is us. There's no draft in the middle of the season, there's no one that's going to be our savior.”
