The BYU Cougars remained undefeated against Big 12 Conference opponents with a thrilling victory at home against the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Friday night.
The No. 13 Cougars had the ball at the Oklahoma State 35-yard line with 19 seconds left and a 35-31 lead. Jake Retzlaff stepped back and passed, checking the progress in the pocket and finding wide receiver Darius Lassiter briefly open. Lassiter made the catch, broke two tackles and scored the winning touchdown.

BYU fans cheered as Lassiter and the team celebrated the touchdown. The Cougars won 38-35.
“It's magical. It's spiritual,” Retzlaff said. “Why can't you be romantic about this game?”
Retzlaff completed 13 of 26 passes for 218 passing yards, two touchdown passes, and two interceptions. He also ran for 81 yards and scored a touchdown on the ground.
He threw his first touchdown pass to Kieran Marion with 3:43 left in the third quarter. BYU took the lead.

Oklahoma State quarterback Alan Bowman and wide receiver Brennan Pressley threw touchdowns to each other in the fourth quarter. Presley found Bowman for a 16-yard touchdown to tie the game. After BYU kicked a field goal, Bowman returned the favor with a 6-yard touchdown pass with 1:13 left.
The Cowboys defense was completely unbreakable.
“It was unlike anything you've seen from our defense,” BYU coach Kalani Sitake said. “I thought we kind of freelanced a little bit to try to make big plays.”
Cougars running back LJ Martin gained 120 yards on the ground and scored two scores. Lassiter had six catches for 1,289 yards.
