Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) said Sunday that Democrats need to “keep doing the work” for Vice President Harris amid growing concerns over black voter turnout.
Warnock appeared on CBS' “Face the Nation” on Sunday morning and was asked by host Margaret Brennan to comment on the lagging support for Harris among black voters. Ta.
“Oh, we have to keep working. And the good news is, that's exactly what Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are doing. They don't take anything for granted. We haven’t,” Warnock said.
Polls so far have shown that Harris has less support from black voters than past Democratic presidential candidates. Concerns grew that she would lose out on votes from key voting blocs.
However, a new poll shows that Harris maintains a lead over former President Trump among black voters in battleground states.
Warnock noted that Harris is spending her time campaigning in Georgia, a key battleground state where President Biden had little success in 2020.
“So we're going to keep working and get her across the finish line in Georgia and nationally,” he said.
