Judge Arun Subramanian had scheduled Combs' trial to begin on May 5. Prosecutors expect the government's case to take three weeks to develop, but Combs' legal team estimates it will take a week to defend him.
The U.S. Attorney's Office also noted that the investigation is ongoing and raised the possibility of a superseding indictment, potentially prolonging the trial.
