Harris Often Answers Questions on Past Positions by Claiming She’s ‘Consistent’

On Monday's broadcast of CNBC's “Squawk Box,” with co-hosts new york times DealBook Columnist and Editor-in-Chief new york times Andrew Ross Sorkin said Vice President Kamala Harris, the 2024 Democratic presidential candidate, often “doesn't really explain what's different” from President Joe Biden. They don't give me real working examples, and if I ask them any questions before, they don't answer well. In fact, I learned from this and that. ” and her answers as to why she evolved are often “answers as to how she evolved.” She consistently believes that her perspective has always been that way. ”

Sorkin said:[O]She is often asked how different she is. She'll say I'm different from Biden, but won't really explain what the difference is, or she'll be asked if it would have been different before. And she doesn't give you real, working examples, or she doesn't say well when asked about previous things, in fact, I learned from this and this, and I—maybe we I made a mistake and it actually makes me a better candidate because of that. For whatever reason, at least to me, it's inexplicable, she doesn't. That's not the answer you hear. Often, it's actually an answer about whether she believes her point of view is always consistent. ”
