A UN report reveals an alarming number of female athletes losing medals to transgender competitors.
As of March 2024, more than 600 female athletes across 29 sports categories have been kicked off the podium, according to the report.
“Male athletes, even before puberty, have certain characteristics that are considered advantageous in certain sports, such as muscle strength and testosterone levels that are higher than the average range for women, resulting in them being denied a fair chance. Masu.”
As a result, women lost nearly 900 medals to men who identify as women in more than 400 competitions, the report said.

Both the International Boxing Association and the World Boxing Organization found that Kerif was biologically male, but the International Olympic Committee decided to allow Kerif to box in the women's category anyway.
Kerif subsequently filed criminal hate speech charges in France for alleged abuse during the Olympics.
The UN report claims that using a simple cheek swab can provide a reliable sex screening procedure, and that female Olympic athletes have favored its use in the past.
“A 1996 survey of female Olympic athletes found that an overwhelming majority (82% of 928 surveyed) supported gender testing,” the report said.
Last week, a group of women activists and former athletes called on the United Nations to impose restrictions on men who wish to compete against women in competitive events.
Olympic silver medalist Sharon Davis and former West Virginia athlete Laney Armistead spoke at the U.N. General Assembly, along with attorneys including Al Salem and Kristen Wagoner of the Alliance Defending Freedom.
Women's groups have called on the international sports community to ensure women can participate in athletics without risking harm from men.
