Voters in Maricopa County, Arizona, are expressing concern after the county said it could take 10 to 13 days for election results to be known.

Deputy Director of Elections Jennifer Liewer said Maricopa County election officials are asking voters to be patient, saying this year's election could take 10 to 13 days to count due to a longer-than-usual turnout and higher interest. announced that they are asking for it.

“We ask for the community's patience as we anticipate that it will take 10 to 13 days to complete the counting of all ballots received,” Liewer said. “We want to make sure this is a safe process, but we also want to make sure it's an accurate process.”

More than 2.1 million votes are expected to be cast in Maricopa County in this election. About 400,000 people have already voted.

“We're seeing some lag compared to 2020, but turnout has actually increased in recent days,” said Maricopa County Elections Director Scott Jarrett. “So we expect to start getting very close to 2020 numbers.”

But some Republican voters have expressed concerns about delays and questioned the process.

On social media, some users have expressed concern, comparing Maricopa County's timeline to that of larger states such as Texas.
