Black supporters of Donald Trump in Philadelphia explained why they oppose Vice President Kamala Harris on an MSNBC election special. alex wagner tonight.
Wagner spoke to members of the Black Republican Club of Philadelphia in the battleground state of Pennsylvania. Members cited a myriad of reasons to support Trump over Harris, but ultimately it all boiled down to her record and qualifications.
“She's a woman of color. I'm not disrespecting her because of that, and I'm not disrespecting her because she's a woman,” Crystal Canty told Wagner. spoke. “Sorry, I'm not a feminist, but at the end of the day, I don't think she has any character and I don't think she has what it takes to confront and stand up to President Putin,” another said. This is what presidents were created for. ”
When Wagner asked if black voters were uncomfortable with Harris' gender, participants pushed back.
Judge Felix, a female voter, told Wagner, “Most men love their mothers, most men love their wives,” adding, “She doesn't have the qualifications or the education to truly run America. That experience.”
“She doesn't understand our struggles, and you're crazy for me to believe you for another four years. Like, you're crazy. I said that four years ago. “I'm saying the same thing,” he said, agreeing that Harris had a chance to solve the problem as vice president.
Other voters noted the time Harris cut her political teeth in California.
“When I first heard the name Kamala Harris, it was associated with incarcerating parents for truancy,” Dr. Alfie Goodwin explained. “It was the first time I heard her name. I really couldn't understand why this woman was claiming to be a Black woman, but was locking up Black women and Black men and separating families. .”
Wagner asked the group whether Trump's message that Harris would turn black when it suited her resonated with them.
“That's right,” Goodwin replied. “When she was sworn in in the Senate, it was the first Indian-American to do so,” the man interjected. “Thank you!”
But regardless of Kamala's race or gender, voters once again focused on Harris' record and her incompetence after nearly four years in the nation's second-most powerful position.
“We all know she's not black. Let's understand that. We're all clear about that,” he concluded, adding, “But in my view, she's not black. She’s already there and she’s now president.”
