Harris, Trump neck and neck in Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina

Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Trump are virtually tied in the Sunbelt states of Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina, according to a Marist poll released Thursday.

In Arizona, Trump holds a 50-49% lead over Harris among voters. The poll's margin of error is plus or minus 3.7 percentage points. But Harris holds a 55-45% lead among independents in the state who say they are likely to vote, and a 56-44% lead among voters who say they have already voted. President Trump has a lead among likely voters who have not yet cast their ballots.

The former president also led Harris among likely voters in North Carolina, 50 to 48 percent, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.6 percentage points. Trump also led Harris among independents who said they were likely to vote in the state, 53% to 42%. But among voters who said they had already voted, Ms. Harris led Mr. Trump 55% to 43%. Among voters who have not yet cast their ballots, Trump leads Harris by 53 to 45 percent.

In Georgia, the likely voters were tied at 49% of the vote, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.9%. Among independents, Harris leads Trump by 55-40%, and among those who say they have already voted, 55-45%. Among voters who haven't cast a ballot, Trump leads Harris by 52 to 46 percent.

The vote came as Trump appeared to have some momentum in a close race with less than two weeks until Election Day. Earlier this week, The Hill/Decision Desk's election forecast had Mr. Trump ahead of Ms. Harris, and as of Sunday, Mr. Trump had a 52% chance of winning, while Ms. Harris had a 48% chance.

The Marist Georgia poll was conducted among 1,356 registered voters and 1,193 likely voters in the state. In North Carolina, the poll was conducted among 1,410 registered voters and 1,226 potential voters. The Arizona poll was conducted among 1,329 registered voters and 1,193 potential voters.
