Former President Donald John Trump is the winner of the 2024 presidential election, becoming the first person to regain the Oval Office since Democrat Grover Cleveland in 1884 and 1892 after losing reelection.
Trump, who will become the 45th and soon to be 47th president, won the electoral vote with his victory in Pennsylvania, where he campaigned vigorously in one of the “blue wall” states that Trump won in 2016. secured his way to the 270-vote mark. throughout the campaign.
Vice President Kamala Harris had strong support among female voters. However, the performance needed to stem the red tide outside of major cities was weaker among urban voters and younger voters.
As of early Wednesday morning, votes were still being counted, with final results expected to be hours, days or even weeks in some states. The battle for control of Congress was still unresolved. Republicans gained a majority in the Senate, but the House majority was still awaiting the results of close California elections.
But the presidential election was called much earlier than many observers and analysts expected (apart from Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlowe). Breitbart News Sunday On SiriusXM Patriot 125 on Nov. 3, President Trump said he expects to do so well that final results could be out early Tuesday evening.
Some predictions even suggested that Trump could win the national popular vote if he performs well in California.
Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) will become the third youngest vice president in U.S. history at age 40. His success may be an indication that the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement will be around for decades.
With his victory, Trump has made arguably the greatest political comeback in American history. Cleveland also faced a nation closely and bitterly divided by the effects of the Civil War. However, Trump faced multiple charges. Two assassination attempts. Censorship on social media. Obvious media bias. And there was even an attempt to blackmail his lawyer.
Harris ran on the idea that she would represent a “new generation” of leaders as the first black, female, and Indian vice president. She relied heavily on the abortion rights issue but offered voters few other policies.
She never intended to be a candidate. She won the nomination after President Joe Biden was forced to withdraw from the race after his disastrous performance in June's debate shook confidence in the Democratic party's mental strength.
Harris has never won a single primary vote. She is now the second female nominee to miss out on the award. But she fared as well as Democrats had hoped in a difficult situation for incumbents.
Trump has overcome doubts about his rhetoric. his role in the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot; And anxiety about my age. He waged an intense, disciplined and even innovative campaign in the final weeks, reaching out to rare voters, including black, Muslim and Hispanic voters. Many lawsuits and many grudges still await. Democrats could try to block Mr. Trump by arguing that he is an “insurrectionist” within the prohibitions imposed by the 14th Amendment.
But for now, after one of the most improbable campaigns in the long history of American politics, voters have elected a leader to preside over the nation's 250th anniversary.
He's President-elect Trump again.
