British climate change activists reacted immediately to President-elect Donald Trump's re-election victory on Wednesday by spraying orange paint on a corner of the US embassy in London in protest.
Two members of the environmental group Just Stop Oil covered a wall in the embassy compound with orange paint, according to a video posted by the group on social media. Video showed orange spray paint covering nearby plants and dripping into the Thames below the wall.
“Trump's victory puts the lives of ordinary people everywhere at risk,” the group said in a press release.
Mr. Trump defeated Vice President Harris in a historic come-from-behind victory and won his second term in the White House. Mr. Trump was expected to win in battleground states such as North Carolina, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Georgia, passing the threshold of 270 electoral votes.
