I'd like to hear from Van about this, but let's be honest about this. There was an invocation of racism in this campaign, there was racism in this country, there was sexism in this country, and anyone who thinks that didn't have any impact on the outcome of this race is mistaken.
I'm not saying that's the main reason Kamala Harris lost and Donald Trump won. I honestly think they ran his campaign strategically, as I've said many times, I think they ran a very smart campaign. This is ultimately a rational, well-thought-out, well-executed campaign for an often irrational candidate, and they defeat him to improve his message, or the way he sells it to the country. They were able to sell the message they thought they should. But let's not confuse what this was and what it wasn't. Let's think about it very calmly.
