An Orland Park, Illinois, man is suspected of punching an election judge in the face after lunging in front of several voters at a local polling place on Sunday, police said.
The Orlando Village Police Department announced that 24-year-old Daniel Schmidt has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a victim over the age of 60, two counts of aggravated assault in a public place, five counts of resisting arrest, and one count of assault. . Disorderly conduct.
Around 11 a.m. on Nov. 3, police were called to a report of a man causing a disturbance in the voting line.
When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as Schmidt, restrained by several people inside the building.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Schmidt entered the town building and walked past numerous voters who were waiting in line to vote.
One of the election judges stationed at the entrance told Schmidt that he needed to go to the end of the line and wait his turn to vote. Police said Schmidt refused.
After Schmidt refused to comply with the judge's order, another election judge stepped in to help, again directing Schmidt to the back of the line.
