ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Republican Rep. Scott Perry defeated Democratic challenger Janelle Stelson in Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District, one of the closest House races this year.
According to the Associated Press, with 98% of votes counted, Mr. Perry, 62, led with 50.8% of the vote to Mr. Stelson's 49.2%.
Mr. Perry sought the cooperation of national Republicans to fend off a stiff challenge from Mr. Stelson, 63. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana), House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) and Rep. Byron Donald (R-Fla.) all had troublesome Octobers for them.
Mr. Stelson campaigned against Mr. Perry's hard-right reputation by linking him to the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot and accusing him of promoting various conspiracy theories.
