Michigan's all-important electoral votes fall into the Republican column. Wednesdaythe day after voting ended at 9 p.m. ET.
The key battleground state controlled 15 electoral votes, cementing former President Donald Trump's Electoral College victory after winning several other battleground states.
Michigan's official election results were among those contested by Republicans in 2020 after President Joe Biden was declared the winner. Biden flipped the state into the Democratic column by:

Trump took advantage of the situation by visiting a popular Muslim-owned restaurant in Dearborn just before the campaign.
Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud, who is Muslim, tweeted: “Dear Democrats: Your refusal to stop funding and enabling genocide is giving President Trump more room to infiltrate our communities.'' I created it. I hope we don't forget that.”
Michigan is also the state where officials acknowledged there were problems with Dominion voting machines for voters with disabilities.
“Yes, this is a national issue with Dominion voter access terminals in counties that use Dominion voter access terminals,” Democratic Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson explained. “Of course, not every machine has a problem, only the machines that have access to it. With straight party voting and programming problems, it's once again affecting machines across the country.”
