US Customs and Border Protection officers arrest murder suspect trying to flee to El Salvador

An American murder suspect who was trying to flee to El Salvador was taken into custody by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents at Washington Dulles International Airport, officials said.

The agency said Christopher Antonio Argueta Ramirez, 19, of Woodbridge, Virginia, was arrested on Sunday before being arrested on a one-way flight to El Salvador departing from Dulles Airport around 1:30 a.m. He reportedly purchased a plane ticket. .

“Officers encountered Mr. Argueta-Ramirez at the departure gate, identified him, detained him, and escorted him to a CBP screening station,” the statement added. “CBP officers turned Argueta-Ramirez over to officers with the Washington Metropolitan Area Airports Authority.”

Argueta Ramirez is one of two suspects in the death of Jose Guerrero, 20, who disappeared in Virginia in late 2022, Inside Nova reported.

“Customs and Border Protection officers encounter all types of travelers entering or leaving the United States, including travelers wanted on suspicion of committing serious and violent crimes,” CBP Washington, D.C. Regional Port said Regional Port Director Mark E. Calixto.
