Democrats have quietly begun distancing themselves from more extreme elements of transgender ideology, fearing the issue will further alienate voters following President Donald Trump's return to the White House.

“Democrats have to stop pandering to the far left,” he said. “I don't want to discriminate against anyone, but I don't think biological boys should be able to play in women's sports. Democrats aren't saying that, and they shouldn't.”
