John Piper faced backlash on social media this week after saying President-elect Donald Trump's victory was “evil.”
“These are the results of the presidential election.” Piper I wrote on wednesday. “The same God who delivered us from one evil will now try us with another.”
he added a reference to Deuteronomy 13:3: “The Lord your God is testing you to see if you will love him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

In response to Basham's post, one commenter said Piper is “left-wing and always has been.”
