GOP pollster Frank Luntz: ‘Whoever told’ Harris to focus on Trump ‘committed political malpractice’

Republican pollster Frank Luntz told ABC News' Jonathan Karl on Sunday that the person who “instructed” Vice President Harris to focus on former President Trump during the presidential campaign was guilty of “political misconduct.” “I committed a crime,” he said.

“We all know what Trump is like,” Luntz said on “This Week.” “We went through him for four years. The person who told her to focus on him committed political misconduct. Because at the end of the day, you can't change people's perceptions of Trump.” Him, it was all about her. ”

Vice President Harris lost the 2024 presidential election to President-elect Trump earlier this week. Mr. Trump won seven key battleground states in this year's election, six of which were won by President Biden in 2020.

Luntz also said that when it comes to men in this year's election, Trump “was their voice.”

“The men felt ignored, they felt forgotten, and… they felt like they didn't matter,” Lantz said Sunday. “And at the end of the day, Democrats have to maintain both. It's not enough to win women's votes.”

“These middle-class, middle-income, moderate men, I call them the ‘triaders,’ are key to every election, and they were betrayed by her. “I felt that way,” he continued.

An ABC News exit poll showed Trump leading Harris by a wide margin among voters who said a candidate's “leadership” and “ability to make a difference” were the most important qualities in their vote. .

According to CNN exit polls, Trump's approval rating among Latino men has increased significantly this year, with 55% supporting the president-elect, compared to 59% who supported President Biden four years ago.
