Michael Douglas Admits Republicans Under Trump Are Now ‘Party of the People’ While Democrats Are ‘Elitists’

Hollywood star Michael Douglas has reluctantly admitted that under President-elect Donald Trump, the Republican Party is now “the party of the people” while the Democratic Party is seen as “elitist.”

Michael Douglas, a longtime supporter of the Democratic candidate, was visibly upset by Trump's victory.

He said Democrats lost the election on economic issues.

“And I think we really underestimated that. The fact that now that we can say the Republican Party is the people and the party for the people, we have the Democratic Party on the left, which is an elitist party. That in itself is outrageous.”
