US Rep Stefanik to meet with Israeli President Herzog

Israeli Rep. Elise Stefanik (R.N.Y.) reportedly visited the Israeli capital on Tuesday after President-elect Donald Trump named the House Republican Conference Chair as the next ambassador to the United Nations. At the same time, he is scheduled to meet with Israeli President Isaac Herzog.

Mr. Herzog is scheduled to meet with President Biden, Sen. Lindsey Graham and several prominent members of Congress, including Mr. Stefanik, in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, his office said. On Monday, President Trump confirmed reports that he would nominate the Republican conference president to be the next ambassador to the United Nations, calling her an “incredibly strong, tough, smart America First fighter.”

A spokesperson for Mr. Graham told Fox News Digital that a meeting “has not yet been confirmed” but that dates are being worked out.

Mr. Herzog's visit to the United States comes during the Jewish Federation of North America General Assembly, which will be held in the nation's capital from Sunday to Tuesday, and Mr. Herzog will be attending as a keynote speaker.
