IDF Finds Ammunition in ‘Humanitarian’ Aid Shipment in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Monday that ammunition was discovered in a shipment of humanitarian aid traveling through the Gaza Strip.

The IDF said in a statement:

Yesterday (Sunday), unusual movements were detected during the passage of a convoy monitored by the Israel Defense Forces in coordination with the international community. The convoy was stopped for security checks at a checkpoint along the humanitarian route connecting northern and southern Gaza. The Israel Defense Forces discovered a bag containing firearm ammunition during an inspection.

IDF forces arrested those involved, including members of the convoy, and then transferred them to security forces for further investigation. We also contacted related organizations.

It is important to note that this is an internal convoy moving from north to south within the Gaza Strip, and not through designated crossing points for bringing humanitarian supplies into Gaza.

The Biden-Harris administration has threatened to impose an arms embargo on Israel if the humanitarian situation in Gaza does not improve by November 13th. Israel says large amounts of aid are being shipped to Gaza, but some of it is being stolen or abandoned. Additionally, aid for supplies such as ammunition that could be used by terrorists must be reviewed.
