“Gossip Girl” actress Chanel Maya Banks, who went missing in Los Angeles two weeks ago, has been found safe in Texas, police said Wednesday.
The 36-year-old actress, whose credits include “Blue Bloods,” was located in Texas on Monday, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson told the Post.
Authorities said she was not injured and no foul play was suspected in her reported disappearance, but did not provide details about what she was doing in the Lone Star State.
Banks' cousin, Danielle Tori Singh, said she had not heard from anyone since October 30 and became concerned, so her family flew in to look for her. told ABC 7 Eyewitness News.
“Not hearing from your cousin for five days is a red flag and a wake-up call,” Singh said. “She goes more than 48 hours without talking to me or her mother. She's like a sister to me,” the cousin said, adding that she worries “something might be going on.” He said he did.
Authorities previously conducted a welfare check at the Playa Vista apartment Ms. Banks shared with her husband for a year, where they found her belongings and dog, but nothing to indicate where she had gone. There wasn't.
Singh was so worried that he started handing out “missing person” flyers with his cousin's face on them.
Her family has started a GoFundMe in hopes of raising enough money to hire a private investigator.
It was not immediately clear what Banks was doing in Texas.
According to her IMDB page, Ms. Banks appeared on popular shows such as “Blue Bloods,” “Twelve” and “Gossip Girl,” and sometimes went by the name Chanel Farrell.
