President-elect Donald Trump announced in a tweet Thursday that he will nominate Robert Kennedy Jr. for Secretary of Health and Human Services.

“I am excited to announce the appointment of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. as U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). “The safety and health of all Americans is the most important role for any administration, and HHS is dedicated to ensuring that everyone is protected from harmful chemicals, contaminants, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, and food additives. “It will play a major role in supporting the overwhelming health crisis in this country,” he added.

“We will not eliminate government agencies as long as we need Congressional approval,” he later continued. “I can eliminate corruption from government agencies, that's what I've been doing for 40 years. I've sued every agency, I have a Ph.D. And that's what I'm doing, and once corruption is eliminated and Americans have access to good science and are allowed to make their own choices, they will be much healthier.”
