I’m Hoping Trump Ditches Patel, Keeps FBI Director Wray

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) said Friday on CNN's “The Lead” that she will reconsider replacing FBI Director Christopher Wray, whom President-elect Donald Trump appointed in 2017, with Kash Patel. He said he hopes so.

Host Jake Tapper said, “So Trump is also reportedly considering Kash Patel to be FBI director. Patel worked at the Pentagon during President Trump's first term. has vowed in the past to essentially go after Trump's enemies, including members of the media, as President Trump considers appointing him to head the FBI, although he has not been formally nominated. I'm sure he is. Do you have any opinions about him?”

Klobuchar said, “I don't know him, but at the time when Bill Barr was slated to take up another position as a judge, Trump's own former attorney general was the one who put his dead body on this case.'' I'm worried after reading that he said he was deaf.” What I would like to see happen is that I would like to see Christopher Wray complete his term. Don't forget, Christopher Wray was appointed by Donald Trump, and the FBI director's term is 10 years, which overlaps with the president's. In this case, it was a Republican president, then a Democratic president, and now back to a Republican president. You know, that's my hope. It probably won't happen, but I think it's best for the agency, where I believe Christopher Wray greatly boosted the morale of the FBI. ”
