Christians: It’s time to reclaim crystals and constellations from ‘New Age’ occultists

If you come to my house, you will see countless crystals. They are placed on shelves, tucked into bookshelves, or surrounded by potted plants. I have moon, sun, and star tattoos on my arms.

I know what you're thinking: Maybe you are interested in New Age?

What begins as innocent curiosity, a desire for meaning and connection, or just a simple feeling. Wow, that's beautiful It can lead people down the path of associating with the devil.

Actually, no.

And I have an additional question. When did questions of geology and astronomy become symbols of the occult?

When did we come to terms with the fact that some of God's creations belong to a group that is in league with the devil, whether they know it or not?

I look around and wonder if there are any Christians out there who are as frustrated by this as I am. We have already silently surrendered to the rainbow takeover. Are we going to allow another group to claim more aspects of nature that we should turn to God for?

That doesn't mean we can stop New Agers, occultists, witches, or anyone else from abusing God's good creation. we can't do that. If they want to imbue stones with dark magic and conjure false ideas out of thin air, so be it.

But Christian balking at anything that has to do with crystals, celestial bodies, and other natural elements is a fundamentally flawed response.

Disclaimer

No matter how harmless they may seem, it is never wise to purchase crystals or ornaments from new age shops or companies. Tarot cards, books on modern magic and sorcery, smudge sticks, incense, and anything in the room that claims to “cleanse energy” are signs we should look for.

Some parts of this product are intentionally cursed. It's not just beautiful stones that you take home.

New Age ideas found in books and games lead us down a path of sinister evil under the guise of “spiritual awakening” that leads us to connect with the universe and other energy sources, all of which are demonic.

At the very least, purchasing products from new age shops funds groups that practice and advocate the dark arts. For the same reason, Christians should avoid reading horoscopes or purchasing anything related to horoscopes.

why is it important

Isn't it interesting that much of what we associate with occultism and New Ageism is not just a gateway drug to the occult, but is not only part of nature, but especially the most ethereal parts of nature? Isn't there?

Icy tundras, scorching deserts, and mosquito-infested swamps do not embody the dark arts. But prismatic crystals, glowing celestial bodies, deep mysterious forests, these are very impressive and seem to exude the supernatural, and they are, so we is especially associated with magic.

This is no coincidence.

Satan uses beauty, the very quality that defined him before the Fall, to tempt and trap. The most sublime elements of nature can become a kind of bait that attracts people. People with an affinity for nature or metaphysics are especially at risk.

That's why we often see bohemians, naturalists, hippies, etc. drawn to New Age. But at first it was innocent curiosity, a desire for meaning and connection, or just something simple. Wow, that's beautiful It can lead people down the path of associating with the devil. And before they know it, the jaws of dark magic are closing in around them.

Furthermore, nature is not just a game board on which humanity's story plays out. Sure, the ocean, mountains, and moon have a practical aspect, but these elements are also designed to reflect the nature of the Creator who brought them into existence and to elicit adoration in the viewer.

When you think of your heaven,

the work of your fingers,

moon and stars,

What you set in place,

What is it about humans that you care about them?

Are you someone who cares about them? —Psalm 8:3-4

These words of King David capture the divine purpose of the natural world. He looks to the sky and bears witness to God's creativity, God's beauty, and love for humanity, and he responds with worship.

wonder of stealing

But Satan hates worshiping God. His theft and perversion of natural elements is fitting given its awe-inspiring potential. If this exists, then there must be a greater force. Of course, that's the point. The complexity and beauty of nature screams out the name of its creator.

Occultism certainly leadsHigher power, but not the highest power. It is not a power to heal, save, and save, but a power to confuse, corrupt, and destroy.

Under Satan's evil influence, the shining stones hidden among the clay and rocks become sources of untapped power rather than reminders of God's creativity and eccentricity. Constellations become avenues for false insight and introspection, rather than evidence of God's artistry or masterful design for navigation. The moon becomes an object of worship rather than the great stabilizer of the universe that God speaks of. The deep forest will be a gathering place for witches, not those who sing the glory of God (1 Chronicles 16:33, Psalm 96:12).

Shouldn't Christians have something to say about this?

Everywhere I see warnings to stay away from New Age ideas and tools. That's good. People need to be educated about this pitfall.

But I know nothing about the other side of that pitfall, the false belief that certain elements of nature belong to the occult. it's not. They were stolen and repurposed for evil, and I want them back too.

restore beauty

I know that even on the darkest nights when the moon is not visible, it is still there, exactly in the same place as always. We know that although it has waxed and waned, its shape has not really changed. This is what we mean when we say that God infuses nature with His elements.

From my fixed, finite perspective, God may appear to change as the seasons change, but the moon shows that God is always unchanging, fully present, complete, and fully God. It reminds me of that.

And when we look at the crystals—their irregular yet somehow ordered structures—we see that the same God who parted the sea, sent the great fish to swallow Jonah, and designed both the songbird and the anglerfish , I can't help but think how similar the logic is. , a practical god who gave Moses the Ten Commandments and invented mathematics. Beautiful, strange, mysterious, and exciting things are crystals and their creators.

We are also reminded of the New Jerusalem promised in Revelation 21. It is a saved holy city of pure gold surrounded by walls made of layered stones that also contain crystals.

“The foundations of the walls were decorated with all kinds of precious stones: the first base was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby, and the seventh. The eighth was beryl, the ninth was topaz, the tenth was turquoise, the eleventh was jacinth, and the twelfth was amethyst” (Revelation 21:19-20).

Crystals and gemstones literally remind us of God's promise to create a new heaven and earth where toil, disease, pain, and sin will be forever defeated, but now that the occult has invented “crystal healing,” they are off limits. It is prohibited. Will these be the very people who will inherit the Jerusalem that God has saved? Now that moon rituals and dating based on your “signs” exist, has it suddenly become taboo for Christians to marvel at certain elements of God's creation?

I refuse it.

I have an affinity for crystals, the moon, and stars, even if it means giving the “wrong impression”.

When people ask me if I use my crystals for healing, I say, “I use my crystals for healing. No, but I will tell you what will heal you. Ask me about my identity as a Libra. I will tell you who my identity is associated with. Ask me about the sun and moon tattoo on my left arm. I'll teach you a psalm.

I think it's time to stop retreating every time a new group plants a flag on our territory.
