Russia launched 200+ missiles, drones at Ukraine infrastructure: Zelensky

Russia launched drone and missile attacks on Ukraine on Sunday in what is believed to be the biggest barrage in months, officials said.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky Posted in X Last week, Russia used nearly 140 missiles of “various types,” as well as more than 900 “guided aerial bombs” and more than 600 unmanned attack aircraft.

President Zelenskiy said Russia was attacking infrastructure in Rivne, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, Volyn and Odessa.

“Russian terrorists are once again threatening us with cold weather and power outages, repeating their actions and trying to get results from them,” he wrote.

The attack comes as Russia continues to attack Ukraine's power generation and energy infrastructure ahead of winter.

Ukrainian forces shot down 144 out of 210 air targets.

Zelenskiy said two people were killed and six others, including two children, were injured in the drone attack. Two more people were killed in the Odesa region. Associated Press reported.

“The whole world sees and knows that we are defending ourselves from absolute evil, which does not understand language, but only force,” Zelensky wrote. “We need unity, and the world needs unity. Only together can we stop this evil.”

The war in the region is approaching its third year. Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, and while President Zelenskiy was pushing for ceasefire negotiations, The outlook is grim.
