‘We Want Voices from All Sides to Be Heard’

During an appearance on Fox News Channel's “Fox News at Night” last week, billionaire Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, owner and CEO of the Los Angeles Times, spoke about his newspaper's He said he is looking forward to changes.

Mr Soon-Shiong said the paper was confusing news with opinion and wanted to overhaul the paper's editorial board to “hear all sides”.

“You say you want this paper to be fair and balanced, but are you just going to fix the editorial parts, or are you going to overhaul the whole paper and start over?” FNC host Trace Gallagher He said:

“I think it's the latter. I think that's exactly the case — I think one of my concerns is whether you, as a journalist, understand that it's news or opinion.” replied Soon-Shiong. “And we've confused news with opinion. So the first thing I want to do is clearly communicate that this is news. And if it's news, just the facts. And if it's an opinion, it's probably an opinion on the news, which I now call a “voice.” ”

“So we want voices from all sides to be heard,” he added. “And we want the news to be just facts.”
