Ray Burrell's latest work WNBA Players commit to playing in unrivaled games this offseason. Burrell, a guard for the Los Angeles Sparks, is one of the league's hottest two-way players, averaging 5.9 points and 1.8 rebounds in 15.6 minutes per game last season. Now, coming off the best season of her young career, she will head to Miami for eight weeks of player development focused on 3-on-3 basketball.
Burrell was drafted ninth overall in the 2022 draft out of Tennessee and has hit 34.5 percent from three in his career. Last season, he started seven games and scored in double figures six times. She is the fourth Sparks player to commit to Unrivaled, joining Azura Stevens, Dearika Hamby and Rikea Jackson.
How does Unrivaled work?
Unrivaled, a new 3-on-3 women's professional basketball league, features 36 of the league's best players. Players are divided into six teams, each led by an experienced coach with experience in player development, and games are played three nights a week. The league has a media rights deal with TNT and will pay players an average salary of more than $200,000 in addition to offering them equity. The match will be a compressed, full-court affair and will take place on a soundstage in Miami.
