Knicks clicking at opportune time for big road litmus test

Slowly, steadily, deliberately, a blueprint emerges from the page, moving from Leon Rose's imagination to the court at Madison Square Garden. Slow, steady, purposeful, the Knicks look like they're having a lot of fun, enjoying each other, enjoying passing the basketball, and embracing the struggle.

“We're starting to get comfortable with each other and it's showing,” Jalen Brunson said.

Admittedly, the Wizards are a scary team, so in a smaller scheme of things, the Knicks' 134-106 blowout loss at the Garden on Monday night was a huge blow to a team with current ambitions and a rebuild in three or three years. It's just something that happens when the teams inside play against each other. 4 years from now.

But the Knicks aren't focused on fast-break snap shots anyway. Those are long-distance stories. It is important that they get used to playing with each other and get used to their instincts, tendencies and habits. When teams huddle together on the fly, it's more beneficial to observe from 30,000 feet, and the views from that vantage point are now getting better and better.
